New GK news!

Head over to the News section for two new scans from the recent Famitsu (provided by JapaneseGIRL). They introduce a new character for Gyakuten Kenji case 2 (a female flight attendant named Ichiru Konomichi), as well as the name for the blonde man who has been floating around for some time now, Zinc White. CAse 2's victim also has a face now, but no name yet.

In other news, the upcoming Gyakuten Musical announced two new cast members: Edge Worth (not Miles Edgeworth, oddly enough) will be played by Hikaru Nanaho, while a new character, Leona Clyde, will be played by Asahi Miwa. For ticketing information, please visit this thread.

Lastly, on the fan-side of things, a trailer has been added to the casemaker section for Remnants of the Past, though at the moment it's not yet a playable fangame.

EDIT: The GK main site updated so there's new art and screenshots up in the GK sections.

Press Start 2008 ShangHai Concert-the video of the GS part

As what I heard a month ago, the Press Start 2008 Shanghai Concert was held on Oct.30th,and one of the played music was a combination of a few GS BGMs.

A video which was taken by one of the audiences can be watched here: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/2SQHPpVpkiQ/

Never mind the Chinese webpage, the video will automatically start to play after buffering.

I hope they will start to sell the concert CD as soon as possible...

Gyakuten Kenji @ TGS08

Image

Thanks to a tip in the last post, we've got some more Gyakuten Kenji news to share!

A newcomer to the PW LJ community posted her experiences playing the game, and also took some very nice pictures and posted her thoughts. You'd be remiss if you missed Edgeworth's threats of revenge over his tea set.

Post TGS Famitsu Goodness

According to the latest issue of Famitisu, Capcom totally stole the show at TGS. According to their poll of 55 companies Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor was the most popular portable title shown! Gyakuten Kenji achieved 15 'best portable game' votes, second went to Dragon Quest IX with 11 votes.

You can read a bit more about Capcom's success at TGS at 1up

Boy am I envious. These gaming expos always seem to be the highlights of the year. Imagine if you could attend one. Well, actually, it might not be all that exciting, considering most of us can't speak/read/understand Japanese. And then there will be those epidemic cases fractured wallet-itus everyone seems to have after attending. But hey we can dream right?

The great Email Purge of '08

Okay, so I've literally spent the last 4 or 5 hours in my inbox, cleaning over 600 messages down to 71. If you know you sent me something and I have not responded, then I'm sorry but either I did not get your email or it's been lost (particularly if it was from 2007, oops). Please submit it again! I'm not going to let it get so bogged down again, I swear!

As a result, I've been able to update the cosplay, fanart, wallpapers, and case makers sections! Because the site generates so much mail, I humbly ask you make it a bit easier for me by taking a quick look at the following guidelines:

Please don't send me any contradictions/exlanations for the time being. They take a lot longer to respond to than anything else and make up the bulk of my email, and with the new Sprite Contest going on, I'd really rather those be held off until after judging. Thanks!

If you're submitting a fanwork (cosplay photos, fanart, wallpaper, etc) please put how you would like to be credited at the front of the file name, for example: MrBubbles-1.jpg. Especially in the case of cosplay photos, I get tons labeled IMG02808173 so just a few letters at the start make it a lot easier to organize and upload them.

If you're submitting a wallpaper, please make a note of the dimensions.

If you're submitting a video via Youtube, please email me directly with the link rather than PM over Youtube, because they're less likely to be labeled spam that way.

If you're submitting a fanart, please attach it rather than link me to Deviantart.

And that's it! Thank you all for your patience.

Sprite Cup!

Image

Because the OC contest is still a half a year away, and Ceres volunteered to help run it, CR is hosting a sprite contest! The rules are very similar to the OC contest, except you're allowed to submit OC sprites and updated/new versions of canon characters as well. Come check out the rules on the site or the forum.

Good luck and have fun!

Gyakuten Soapbox: Success!

If you'll turn back the clock to before we all got excited about TGS, we had a thread where we asked all of the fandom to speak their voice and tell Capcom about all the stuff we wanted them to let us buy.

Just over a week later, Snow, (one of the Capcom Fans that joined Croik on the Trip to Las Vegas for the Captivate-08 event turned Capcom Employee and Lost's Successor) left a message on the Capcomunity Forums that he's forwarded the thread to the folks running the Capcom Store.

Snow wrote:
Ok, so I talked to Darin, who runs our store about this thread. We're working on it, and that's all I'm allowed to say. I just wanted to let you guys know we hear you, and you don't go unnoticed. :godot:

This is exciting! It just goes to show you never know what'll happen until you ask!

Court-Records Post TGS-08 Report

It's been an EXCITING weekend. We've had a ton of information rolling in and it's been difficult to keep track of all that we've learned, but here's a basic summary of what you've all missed.

Oh, and the official Gyakuten Kenji website has seen an update or two.

As you can see, there's been a ton of information flowing our way. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pass out now.
