Spoiler: AA5-2

Spoiler: AA5-2

Inside, she found Chief Kyuubi, dead, and what she thought was her father sitting opposite him, wearing The Great Nine-Tails' mask. She rushed to the nearest telephone to call the police, but in the process witnessed Tenma Tarou fleeing down the hall and then the stairs. Finally she left the mansion and got help from Apollo. Jinxie didn't tell anyone about the mask, because she didn't want to give away her father's secret. She also didn't tell anyone about Tenma Tarou at first, because Biyouin reminded her that seeing or acknowledging him could result in her losing her soul.

Japanese: Despite being compared to a tanuki, the kanji in his given name is "bear."  It's used as part of a pun in case 2.  His surname is a reference to a famous Japanese yokai, the Bean Washer (azukiarai), a small man or child who keeps people up at night with the swishing sounds of washing azuki beans.  In his name the "beans" are replaced with "zeni," aka Capcom's fictional currency zenny, because Phineas claims to be the grandson of a famous thief known for keeping people up with the sounds of him washing his stolen loot.

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-2
Phineas grew up hearing about the exploits of his grandfather, a famous thief, and especially was enthralled with the legend of a huge nugget of gold being kept inside Tenma Taro's chamber. After playing the part of Tenma Taro in the festival ceremonies, he kept the costume and snuck into the mansion, using his grandfather's old tunnel route to get into the chamber. Once there, however, the door opened unexpectedly from the outside and in a panic he made a run for it. Because Jinxie spotted him in full costume, he changed out of it in the lobby and lobbed it out the nearest window. The flying costume was then mistaken for the real Tenma Taro, and Phineas pretended not to know anything about the incident to protect himself. It wasn't until the middle of court that he realized his grandfather had already stolen the gold years ago.

Name Origin:
English
: Unknown

Japanese: "Biyouin" means "beauty parlor."

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-2
The truth of Florent's beauty brand is that despite all the money he's put into it, no one wants to buy it. Soon after starting he fell into steep debt and was desperate for quick cash. While Kyubi's wife was in the hospital, he befriended her, and then Kyubi himself, learning of the secret behind Nine-Tails Vale: it houses a huge nugget of gold. In order to keep outsiders from learning of the riches, the village invented the story behind Tenma Taro to frighten everyone away from the chamber.

Florent resolved to steal the gold. He blackmailed Damian into a merger, hoping to get a chance of opening the chamber. When The Great Nine-Tails set that plan back, he planned to drug Kyubi and Damian during the festival in a more direct move. Upon learning that Damian was actually The Great Nine-Tails after all, he came up with the more devious plan of framing him for Kyubi's murder. That way, The Great Nine-Tail's reputation would be tarnished, and with Kyubi dead the merger could go through, giving him even more of an opportunity to search the chamber. To that end he killed Kyubi, knocked out Damian and pretended to be him to confess to Jinxi of the murder. He even went so far as to try and pressure Phineas into the testimony he wanted. In the end, Apollo used his own beauty products against him to prove him to be the killer.
