Personality: Komori is pragmatic and very concerned about appearances. Some consider him cruel for his very careful business decisions, and especially for mistreating his family if it will be of benefit to him.

Misc Facts: Komori likes to sketch to help give him inspiration, but he's not very good at it.

Friends and Family: His wife is Himeko, and they have a daughter, Sara. Sasao is his younger brother, but he fears what Sasao's ugly appearance and mannerisms could do to his reputation, and he refuses to refer to them as family.

Name Origin: Komori comes from the name of a kind of spider (it was the surname chosen for Peter Parker in the Japanese adaptation of Spiderman). Akamune ("red breast") is also a kind of spider.

Background: Unknown.

Brother to the victim of Turnabout Gallows.

Personality: Hatsurou is as robust as his appearance. He has a great respect for his little brother and is tenacious to a fault.

Misc Facts: Just look at him. He's HUGE.

Friends and Family: Jirou's elder brother.

Name Origin: Kimura is a common Japanese surname with a general meaning of "village of trees". It's also another kind of spider. Hatsurou means "first boy" following a tradition in Japan for naming children for the order they were born in (it matches his brother's name).

Background: Unknown.

Witness in Turnabout Gallows.

Personality: Short-tempered and spoiled. Not a big fan of her parents.

Misc Facts: She has one hell of a high kick.

Friends and Family: Sara is daughter to Akamune and Himeko Komori, niece to Sasao, and claims to have been dating Jirou before he was killed.

Name Origin: Her name is made up of two different kinds of spiders.

Personality: Aloof, disdainful, and snobbish. Doesn't seem to approve of anyone let alone her own family though values appearance as much as her husband.

Misc Facts: She and her husband apparently sleep in separate rooms.

Friends and Family: Komori's wife, Sara's mother. Sister-in-law to Sasao.

Name Origin: Her name is made up of two different kinds of spiders.

Personality: Very laid back, and very into his hobbies. He seems to excuse a lot of poor behavior on Komori's apart (perhaps he's afraid to stand up to him?).

Misc Facts: Yamashiro is a big fan of spiders and loves Sasao's mansion.

Friends and Family: Yamashiro is Sasao's only close friend (besides his spiders).

Name Origin: His name is made up of two different kinds of spiders. It may also be a reference to Oda Nobunaga from Japanese history, as his name means "the mountain castle Azuchi," (Azuchi Castle was built by Nobunaga in 1579).

Background: Unknown.

Witness of Turnabout Gallows.

Personality: Timid, quiet, and very gloomy. Sasao knows that most people can't stand him and doesn't try to approach them, even warning people away. He speaks very slowly.

Misc Facts: Sasao loves spiders, and has a huge collection of books and media based on them. He almost never leaves his "Spider Mansion".

Friends and Family: Sasao is Komori's younger brother. Yamashiro is his only non-spider friend.

Name Origin: His name is made up of two different kinds of spiders.

Background: Sasao spends most of his time in his separate home, tending his spiders. Not much else is known of him.
