Aristotle Means / Shinji Ichiro

一 路真二

Age: 45
Gender: Male
Occupation: Academy teacher (Defense Attorney class)

Witness of AA5 case 3.

Personality: Means has a pleasant, academic personality that suits him as a teacher, tarnished only by his pessimism when it comes to the world of law.

Misc Facts: He awards people points as if they were in class.

Means's approach to teaching has him at odds with his fellow teachers, in that he believes they have entered The Dark Days of Law and is thus teaching his students to win by any means necessary.

Friends and Family: Colleague of Courte.

Name Origin:
English: Unknown.

Japanese: The kanji in his name mean "one road, two truths."

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-3
Means believes in doing anything necessary to achieve ones goals, and not just in law. He was taking bribes from parents of students to give their children high grades (most notably, Hugh O'Conner). Courte found out about it, and confronted him the night before mock trial while he was working on the stage. To keep her from ruining him, Means killed her with his staff, and hid her body inside the statue of Phoenix he was working on. He used a Gavinner's flag to mop up the blood and used it to make the art room look like the crime scene, then burned it.

The next day, Means pre-recorded his speech for the class, and played it at the beginning of the mock trial. While it was going on, he snuck back to the art room and tied up one of Robin's art pieces in the second flag from the show, swinging it from a wire onto the stage. Both the Phoenix and Klavier statues were shattered, revealing Courte's dead body. He then replaced his staff with an archery arrow and began planting false evidence to sway the investigation. He even went so far as to offer to be Juniper's defense attorney, though it's unclear how he might have acted in her defense, seeing as he was the one that planted the evidence implicating her.

Age: 47
Gender: Female
Occupation: Academy teacher (Judge Class)

Victim of AA5-2.

Personality: Known to be a caring teacher who mentored many students, even those not directly in her class.

Misc Facts: Her artistic sense tends to the bizarre, but colorful.

In contrast to Means, Courte believes that those in the law must conduct themselves with integrity, regardless of how others do.

Friends and Family: Colleague of Means.  Was a mentor to Juniper, and even Klavier, when he was a student.

Name Origin:
English
: Unknown.

Japanese: The kanji in her given name are "right" (as in correct) and "world."

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-3
It was Courte's desire to teach her students honesty and integrity, and to do that she would sometimes collect information about their wrong-doings so they could be properly punished. Juniper was her snitch, going even so far as to tell Courte when she overhead that Hugh was bribing teachers for good grades. She confronted Hugh about it, and later confronted Means, as his teacher. Unfortunately, she underestimated Means, and was murdered.

Age: 18
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student (Defense Attorney Class)

Witness of AA5 case 3.

Personality: Hugh is smug and condescending, and he feels the need to constantly talk about his high scores and skills.  He believes as Means does, that winning is what's most important in law.

Misc Facts: Is a skilled archer.  Claims to be able to fire a bow one-handed.

Friends and Family: Friends with Juniper and Robin.

Name Origin:
English
: Unknown.

Japanese: His surname kanji are "quiet" and "arrow."  Rei can also mean "zero."

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-3
Hugh is no genius. He's actually been held back 7 times, and is 25 at the time of the game. At some point his parents got fed up and started paying Means to fake Robin's test scores, and as a result he started to think of himself as a genius. When Hugh found out, he confronted his parents in a phone call, which Juniper unfortunately overheard, and then related to Courte. After that, their friendship was not the same.

The night of the murder, Hugh went to the art room. He was trying to retrieve one of Myriam's envelopes, thinking it held another article she intended to publish about him and his friends. When he opened it, his hand was cut with a razor, and Juniper saw him with his hands bloodied. After that, Hugh's actions were a mix of lies meant to look out for himself and his friends.

Age: 18
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student (Prosecutor Class)

Witness of AA5-3.

Personality: Robin is incredibly high strung, and he spends most of the time running around and shouting, or else crying and breaking things.  He is incredibly invested in competition and friendship.

Spoiler: AA5-3
When it's revealed that Robin is actually a girl, she shifts dramatically between her more masculine, shouting self, and a super-stereotypically-girly girl who twirls and teases.

Misc Facts: Robin is part of the art club, but is very critical of his own work.

Friends and Family: Friends with Hugh and Juniper.

Name Origin:
English
: Unknown

Japanese: His surname means "hot," in reference to his intense personality.

Background:

Spoiler: AA5-2
Robin was born a girl (and still is), but because of her strict parents, she was raised as a boy and forced into Themis Law Academy, despite actually wishing to be an artist.

Age: 25
Gender: Male
Occupation: Proscutor

Witness of AA5-2.

Personality: Klavier is much as he ever was.  Though he's no longer lead in a band, he's just as flirty as ever, though a bit more helpful toward Apollo when they're not against each other on a case.

Misc Facts: In AA5 we learn that Klavier attended Themis Law Academy before hopping overseas to pass the bar exam early.

Friends and Family: Brother of Kristoph Gavin. Considered Courte a mentor while a student at Themis.

Name Origin:
English: Klavier means "piano" in German. As far as I know, he does not actually play this instrument, so why he was named that is a mystery to me.

Japanese: Garyuu may come from a combination of "self taught man" and "a dragon's fang." The first kanji in Kyouya means, "to echo" or "to resound".

Background: See his old profile.

Age: 17
Gender: Female
Occupation: Student (Judges Class)

Witness of AA5-3.

Personality: A clever, determined girl who is in everyone's business.  "Eccentric" would be a good place to start.

Misc Facts: She is the one and only member of the school's newspaper club.  She stays in the box as part of her disguise, so that she can listen in on people's conversations without being spotted.

Friends and Family: Unknown.

Name Origin:
English
: Myriam may come from "myriad."  Scuttlebutt is a slang term for gossip.

Japanese: Her name means "gather gossip."

Background: Coming soon!

Spoiler: AA5-3
Myriam has spent an extra amount of time on Juniper and her relationship with her friends, claiming it's for the good of the paper, but the truth is she just wishes she could be one of them.
